FAQ
You've got questions, we have answers. Here's everything you need to know about tattoo removal at Alkhemist.
Laser hair removal works by using targeted light energy to focus on the hair follicles. The pigment in the hair absorbs this light, which turns into heat, effectively damaging the follicle and reducing its ability to regrow hair. With a series of treatments, you’ll see a significant reduction in hair growth, resulting in smoother skin and longer-lasting results compared to shaving or waxing. The process is safe, effective, and can be used on various areas of the body to achieve a more permanent hair reduction.
The number of treatments you’ll need for laser hair removal depends on factors like your hair type, color, and the area being treated. On average, most people need about 6 to 8 sessions to achieve optimal results. Hair grows in cycles, and the laser is most effective during the active growth phase, which is why multiple sessions are necessary. Treatments are typically spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart to align with your hair growth cycles. During your consultation, we can provide a more personalized treatment plan based on your specific needs and goals.
A good candidate for laser hair removal is someone with unwanted hair who is looking for a longer-lasting solution compared to traditional methods like shaving or waxing. The treatment works best on people with darker hair, as the laser targets the pigment in the hair. It’s suitable for most skin types, but those with lighter skin and darker hair tend to see the best results. If you have very light blonde, gray, or red hair, the laser may be less effective. Additionally, if you have certain skin conditions, are pregnant, or are taking medications that increase photosensitivity, laser hair removal might not be recommended. A consultation with our Skin Experts will help determine if you’re a good candidate based on your specific skin and hair type.
Laser hair removal is generally quite comfortable, with most people describing the sensation as a quick, mild tingling or a gentle snap, similar to a rubber band. The feeling is brief and varies depending on the area being treated, but it's usually very manageable. After the treatment, your skin might feel slightly warm, like you've been in the sun for a bit, but this typically fades quickly. Overall, it’s a straightforward and effective way to achieve smooth, hair-free skin with minimal discomfort.
Laser hair removal is priced based on the areas you want to treat. At Alkhemist we offer different memberships for unlimited hair removal to make it as affordable as possible for you. During your consultation we'll give you prices to compare and choose the best plan for your needs.
